Garlic & Bluebell 5K Race Report
On a dry, cool and overcast Thursday evening, Rowan Curtis covered the 5.6 km trail course in a blistering, winning time of 19:23 followed by Sam Wright at 27 seconds. Joel Thompson and veteran Stephen Hamill were next home, less than a minute behind the leader. On the other end of the generational scale, Robert S was first junior with a stunning time of 23:10 pursued closely by the first lady, Lucy Mullen. Mention should also be made of James E, another junior, who finished just behind Lucy.
Registrations were overseen by Andy Biggs and Stephen Hamill while Rob and Andy appeared to deal with timekeeping. All were ably assisted by many smiling and supportive marshals without whom friendly, low-key events like this are impossible. Put it in your diary for next year and well done to all!
