FAQs

How does the club communicate with its members and others?

Communications between the club and its members and between members themselves is primarily via Spond and the club’s private Facebook group. The club’s public Facebook and Instagram accounts are used to showcase its activities and achievements to the wider world. The website is intended to promote the club independently of its social media platforms and to be a repository for persistent information (activities, people, locations, courses, times, frequently asked questions etc).

What kit and/or other equipment am I likely to need?

No specialist equipment is required initially.  You should dress in suitable running kit, appropriate to the weather conditions and bring a water bottle to each session. Ideally, you should wear shoes suitable for the distance, terrain and weather conditions. If you’re specialising in track athletics you may want a pair of running spikes.

It’s not necessary to wear club kit to training sessions.  A club vest is required to compete in many external competitions or to qualify for club awards. Club kit may be purchased via our online kit supplier.

What happens to training if the weather is bad?

Training sessions normally take place regardless of the weather. In adverse weather–snow, ice or flooding–cancellations will be issued to members via Spond.
