A 4-mile handicap race for club members only. It’s usually held on a training evening in June and is open to all senior groups.
Starting on the sports centre side of ‘Noisy Bridge’ at Maiden Castle, the course follows footpaths along the River Wear before finishing on the playing fields across the bridge.
Starts are handicapped for individuals – calculated on age and gender. Finishing positions at the line are aggregated for men and women with the lowest total deciding the battle of the sexes! A trophy is awarded on the night to the captain of the winning side.
