Following on from his excellent 800m victory in the Northern Athletics (u/15 & u/17 ) Track & Field Championships at Leigh in Lancashire, young Adam Ord (u/17) made the long journey to Bedford to compete in the England Athletics (u/15 & u/17) Championships 800m. Adam had a very fine run, recording 2.00.25, but being bottom of his age group could not go with the early very fast pace set by the leaders, and therefore could not offer the challenge he normally does in the closing stages. Nevertheless, he still managed to finish a creditable 5th place in his Heat against very strong opposition.

In the  Darlington 10k Road Race , which incorporated the Harriers Club Championship awards, Anthony Hunt (v/45) was our 1st runner home in (46th) place in 36.51 and won our 1st Male veteran award just holding off teammate Karl Monaghan (49th) in 36.58 who was 1st Senior Male, whilst Charlotte Kenyon was the Club's 1st Senior Female, with Diane Wood (v/50) the 1st Female veteran , results of all of our Club runners were as follows: Peter Harrison (v/40) 38.06, Andrew Foster 43.03, Bob Hewitson (v/60) 44.45, Charlotte Kenyon 44.45, Catherine Gough 46.16, Mike Dann (v/50) 47.55, Mike Kenyon (v/50) 47.59, Mark Pickett 48.07, Diane Wood (v/50) 49.45, Liz Lamb (2nd v/60) 51.37, David White (v/70) 52.41, Katie Palethorpe 55.56, Femke Nauschutz (v/45) 56.27, Graeme Draper (v/40) 57.49, Megan Bell (v/40) 57.53, Joe Harker (3rd v/75) 75.10.

As the Summer Track & Field Season draws to a close, still some of the Club's athletes were wanting to finish on a high and competed in the Tartan Games at Gateshead International Stadium (although windy conditions affected some of the Events).
