Veteran athlete Jacqui Hodgson was delighted to win a Bronze Medal at this year's World Masters Track & Field Championships in Malaga, Spain, this was in the Final of the Women's (over 50) 4 x 400m Relay where she was the lead-off leg for the GB & NI Team and she got them off to a solid start. There was obviously some very strong Teams in that final and the result was that Spain won Gold, Australia the Silver, with GB & NI securing Bronze. Earlier in the Competition which covered a period of 12 days Jacqui ran in the individual 400m and improved her times in each round, firstly in the Heats recorded 64.93, then the day after 64.33 in the Semi, and two days later 63.81 in
a very competitive Final finishing 8th.

Meanwhile Conrad Kennedy (over 50) ran firstly in the Heats of the 100m recording 13.33 and also the Heats of the 200m recording 26.53, but unfortunately did not get to the semis. Conrad also however ran lead-off leg in the GB&NI 4 x 100m Relay Team finishing 4th in the Heats but unfortunately the Team did not feature in the Final.


Durham Senior Men's Team of 6 Runners again travelled to Manchester this year to compete in the Northern Athletics Autumn Road Relays over a distance of 6.8k each leg. Although they were not at full strength, with changes made at the 11th hour to ensure they had a full team to support this popular event, a mix of youth and experience produced a good result considering. Durham finished 51st out of 128 complete teams, the results of the relay squad were as follows: (1st Leg) Dan Jenkin (26th) 21.09, (2nd Leg) Rob Everson (36th) 22.36, Ben Horsfield (u/20) (40th) 23.20, Jonny Wilkinson (36th) 22.37, Michael Grimes (34th) 23.29, Jason Catterall (v/45) (51st) 26.27 (Overall Time 2 hours, 19 mins, 38 secs).


In the City of York Open Track & Field Races the Durham squad filled the first 5 places of a field of 7 runners in the 800m to finish the outdoor season on a high note. The results were as follows: (1st) Cameron Thomas (u/20) 2.04.7pb, (2nd) Tom Rutherford (u/20) 2.04.29pb, (3rd) Michael Grimes 2.04.86, (4th)  Panav Anand (u/20) 2.09.23pb,  (5th) Moses Hung (u/20) 2.13.21pb.
