Ultra-distance veteran runner Joasia Zakrzewski continues to show that distance and time is no object to her as she ran the Plusnet Yorkshire Marathon at York where she finished 41st overall , 2nd Lady, and 1st veteran (o/40) recording a fine time of 2hrs 54mins 46secs. Indeed, one week later, Joasia, an experienced International runner, ran the Heart of Eden Half-Marathon in Appleby, Westmorland, finished 4th overall , was 1st Lady and 1st veteran recording 84.03, two very good performances.

Meanwhile, XC International and Leeds based Dan Garbutt is steadily getting back to full fitness with a convincing win at the Isle of Axholme Half-Marathon in Epworth, Lincolnshire. Conditions were far from ideal due to the windy conditions but Dan was   satisfied as it was still a good work-out for him, winning the race by over 2 minutes recording 74.53.

In the Northern Counties XC Relays at Graves Park, Sheffield, the Harriers fielded
5 full teams competing across the various age groups which was good to see and all
performing well against strong opposition, results of which were as follows:

u/17 Men’s (3×2.3k): Cameron Thomas (13th) 7.41, Jacob Stephenson (14th) 8.13, Ryan Watson (12th) 7.46 (overall time 23.40, Team 12th).

u/15  Boy’s (3x2k): Adam Ord (18th) 7.40, Izaak Taylor (18th) 8.01, Peter Cook 15th 7.49 (overall time 23.30, Team 15th).

u/13 Girl’s  (3x 1.8k):  Freya Gibson (27th) 6.50, Holly Cook (27th) 7.07, Erin Keeler-Clarke (17th) 6.30, (overall time 20.27, Team 17th).

Senior Men (4x2miles):
A Team: Dan Jenkin (8th) 10.50,Jonny Wilkinson (20th) 12.06, Rob Everson (17th) 11.45, Michael Grimes (16th) 11.36, (overall time 46.17, Team 16th). (1st NE Team) .
B Team: Alex Cook (28th) 11.31, Stephen Everett (o/55) (35th) 12.37, Peter Harrison (o/40) (39th) 13.30, Jason Catterall (o/40) (43rd) 14.33,(overall time 52.11, Team 43rd).
C Team (incomplete): Bob Hewitson (o/55) (73rd) 15.50, Geoff Watson (o/40) (72nd) 16.52.
