Six Junior athletes travelled down to Leigh, Lancashire, for the Northern u/17, u/15, and u/13 Track & Field Championships, and three of them brought back medals, two just missed out finishing 4th, and the youngest member improved on his personal best time. Pride of place must go to Tia Anderson who is in a rich vein of form and ran an excellent race to win Gold in the u/15 Girls 200m (Final) recording 25.49 after a winning heat time of 26.14. In the u/15 Boys 800m (Final) Adam Rod, another athlete in fine form, just missed out on winning by less than half a second but clinched Silver in a time of 2.02.74. Multi-Eventer Chris Milburn gained a surprise medal in the u/17 Men’s 1500m Steeplechase winning Bronze in a time of 6.04.93pb. In the u/17 Men’s 1500m Cameron Thomas was delighted to break 4.20, finishing just outside the Medals but recording a personal best time of 4.17.46. Equally, Tyler Thomas just missed out on a medal, finishing 4th in the u/15 Boys 100m Final recording 11.79 after a heat time of 11.80. In the u/13 Boys 800m Final Travis Anderson again improved on his personal best time, recording 2.23.82 and finished 9th.

In the annual Darlington 10k,  Dan Jenkin was 1st counter for the Club finishing 10th in a time of 32.39 and again became the Clubs Senior 10k Champion. He was closely followed by Matt Hornsby who finished 14th in 33.14 and was 1st veteran o/35 in the race. Following on was Cameron Allan, 2nd u17 in 37:25, Dave King v50 42:34 was 1st Club veteran taking the Club 10k veteran championship. Nicola Whyte was 1st senior woman in 43:25 taking the senior woman’s club championship and Kelly Bentley took the veteran women’s championship in 45:33, and was 3rd v50 veteran overall. Other runners competing for the club were: Rob Garbutt, v50 (43:52), David Coxon, v45 (43:54), Shaun Day, v50 (45:01), Karen Jones, v45 (49:48), Diane Wood , v50 (50:26), Greta Jones, v50 (51:41), Alice Hopper, u20 (51:13), Christine Woods, 4th v55 (52:23), Liz Lamb 4th v60 (52:59), Fee Holloway, v40, (53:27), Katie Palethorpe (54:39), David White, v70 (52:53), Megan Bell, v40 (54:17), Laura Hopper u17 (55:28), Fred Anderson, 3rd v75 (61:53) and Lindsey Brooks, v45 (75:29).
