City Harriers were once again amongst the Medals in this years North East Counties Track & Field Championships at Gateshead. There was also many personal bests set over the two days of competition.

u/20 Men: Cameron Bain ; 400m 2nd 50.45. Scott Armstrong; 5th 54.14 (pb). Greg Venyo ; 200m 2nd 23.16.

Senior Men: Josh Peel ; Javelin 2nd 40.84m, 100m 5th 12.01 (pb). David Wilkinson 6th 12.04.

At the Raby Castle 5k Fun Run, Durham City Harriers (Junior Section) dominated the Race filling the 1st 6 places, headed by recent acquisition Ryan Watson, who had a fine run in the (15-19) race category, his winning time was 19.24. He was closely followed by Michael Wade (15-19) in 2nd place in a time of 19.40 producing another good run, with young Izaak Taylor having a great run for 3rd, but was 1st u/15, in a time of 19.56. Luke Pickering was 4th overall (3rd 15-17) returning 20.05, with the Wraith twins Thomas 5th overall in 20.16 (2nd u/15) and Joshua 6th in 21.02 (3rd u/15). Bridget Bradshaw was 29th (3rd 15-19) in 25.02, Lucy Walker(15-19) 34th in 26.10, Olivia Fawcett (15-19) 38th in 26.45, and Imogen Coxon (15-19) 55th in 28.42.

Meanwhile in the 10k Race, 1st counter for the Club was Alison Walker who was 102nd overall and (2nd Veteran over/45),  recording a time of 46.09. Other Club runners to finish were: Mike Kenyon (v/45) 116th in 46.50, David Coxon (v/45) 137th in 47.53, Kelly Bentley 149th (3rd Veteran over/ 50) in 48.20, Ken Bradshaw (v/55) 150th in 48.21, Gemma Soulsby 159th in 48.44, Ian Graham (v/60) 269th in 55.04, Megan Bell (v/35) 287th in 56.13, Victoria Coxon (v/40) 394th 65.00 , there were 458 finishers.

City Harrier and Durham University Student Laura Kaye travelled back home again to run in the North Lincolnshire Half Marathon at Scunthorpe and was rewarded with a personal best time of 1.27.34, an improvement of over three and half minutes over the same course as last year and was obviously extremely pleased, she was 121st overall out of 1498 finishers and 6th Lady.
