Durham City Harriers had 11 runners selected for the Durham County Schools Team to compete in the English Schools XC Championships held on the Norfolk County Showground, Norwich. This is one of the most eagerly anticipated events of the winter for young athletes as it brings together the best athletes in the 45 Counties in England to compete for the honour of being the best in the Country. There were 8 to run and 6 to score for the Team in the various age categories, and the City Harriers placings and times within their respective Teams were as follows:

Junior Boys 4K – Peter Cook 67th 13.33 (2nd Counter), Sam Gibson 92nd 13.41
(3rd Counter), Thomas Wraith 249th 14.31 (6th Counter), Joshua Wraith 14.42 (n/c),
(20th Team).

Intermediate Boys 4K – Ryan Watson 110th 19.58 (1st Counter), Cameron Thomas
230th 20.49 (4th Counter) (34th Team).

Senior Boys 7.2k – Cameron Allan 89th 24.45 (2nd Counter), Joseph Grehan  –  Bradley 128th 24.37 (3rd Counter), Luke Pickering 131st 24.40 (4th Counter), and the in-form Michael Wade (who thought that his chest infection had cleared but was disappointed to find that it hadn’t), rallied to the end to finish 259th in 26.26 (n/c) (22nd Team).

Senior Girls 4K- Charlotte Kenyon 255th 16.40 (5th Counter) (35th Team).
