Veteran Joasia Zakrzewski (o/40) achieved double success in her last two Races. Firstly, she finished 25th overall out of 471 finishers in the Derwentwater 10 Mile Road Race at Keswick, was 1st Lady and 1st Lady Veteran, and recorded a time of 63.04. A week later, Joasia ran in the Heaton Harriers Memorial 10k Road Race on the Town Moor, Newcastle, finishin 42nd overall out of 537 finishers. Again, she was 1st Lady and 1st Lady Veteran, recording a time of 37.53. Joasia was only headed in the Club by Senior runner Karl Monaghan who ran well to finish 33rd in a time of 37.01 which was a personal best time for him. Other Club runners to finish were as follows:

[divider]Meanwhile, at the other end of age categories, some of our juniors were representing their school, Durham Johnston Comprehensive, in the English Schools Regional Finals (N.E.) at Stewart Park in Middlesbrough. The Intermediate Boys did very well with Peter Cook 5th in 15.14, Sam Gibson 6th in 15.18, Charlie Phillips 9th in 15.26, and William McKenna 26th in 16.45 scoring, the Team were 3rd with 46 points and so they qualified for the English Schools XC Cup Final in Kent on 25th November. The Junior Girls also did well but just missed out on qualifying finishing 4th Team with 81 points, with Erin Keeler-Clark 11th in 9.32, Freya Gibson 18th in 9.49, Holly Cook 23rd in 9.59, and Amy Nicholson 29th in 10.07 scoring, with Ruby Phillips 31st in 10.09 and Jessica Peart 42nd in 10.38 backing them up. The Inter-Girls had 2 Club members in the the scoring Team who finished 8th with 81 points, Emily Salmon who was 9th in 11.31 and Naomi Erleback 29th in 12.44, with Jennifer Taylor 48th in 14.29 backing up the Team.
[divider]Cameron Allan meanwhile travelled down to Milton Keynes to compete in the British
Cross Challenge (u/20) over a 5.9k course and ran very well against strong opposition and was 32nd overall, 16th (u/20) out of 142 finishers , which also included some top (u/17 Men), and recorded a good time of 19.49.
