Durham City Harriers

Welcome to Durham City Harriers & AC

We are a friendly, successful, and long-established running and athletics club for people of all ages. The club is based in, and trains around, the historic university city of Durham in the North East of England. We cater for the entire range of athletics and have members interested in all track and field events including multi-events, road running, cross country, trail, fell and more. Membership is open to everyone aged 8 years and over. The club encourages membership applications from all groups within the Community. We cater for younger generation athletes at the club, and also have many sportsmen and women competing in veteran events at many levels. Our members cover a wide range of abilities: some are at the sharp end of races, competing and winning at an international level, while others train just for fun or simply to keep fit. Structured training is offered for those who want it, and company is offered to all – nobody trains on their own.

Athletics Report – Harriers continue their impressive form

Matt Hornsby continued his rich vein of form in finishing 5th overall in this years Liverpool Half-Marathon and was 2nd (over 35) Veteran, recording a personal best time of 72.50 with over 5,000 runners taking part. Young and old(er) – Harriers’ athletes performing far and wide

Veteran runner Joasia Zakrzewski (o/40) had another excellent run this time in the Limassol Marathon in Cypress where she finished 11th overall, 4th Lady, and 1st Veteran  recording a very good time of 2hrs 47mins 23secs which is the 15th time she has recorded a sub 2hrs 50mins clocking, a tremendous achievement.
