Durham City Harriers

Welcome to Durham City Harriers & AC

We are a friendly, successful, and long-established running and athletics club for people of all ages. The club is based in, and trains around, the historic university city of Durham in the North East of England. We cater for the entire range of athletics and have members interested in all track and field events including multi-events, road running, cross country, trail, fell and more. Membership is open to everyone aged 8 years and over. The club encourages membership applications from all groups within the Community. We cater for younger generation athletes at the club, and also have many sportsmen and women competing in veteran events at many levels. Our members cover a wide range of abilities: some are at the sharp end of races, competing and winning at an international level, while others train just for fun or simply to keep fit. Structured training is offered for those who want it, and company is offered to all – nobody trains on their own.

Top 20 finish by u15 Boys Team in National Road Relay

In the National Young Athletes Road Relay Championships at Sutton Park, Sutton Coldfield , Birmingham, the u/15 Boys ran extremely well to finish 17th out of 75 Teams who finished. The club’s joint Harrier league event is coming up on the 18th November. As joint hosts of this round we have a commitment to building the course and providing some marshalls. City Veterans win Gold and Bronze Medals at the Masters

In the British Masters Athletic Federation 10,000m Track Championships held at Jarrow, Joasia Zakrzewski (o/40) ran an excellent race to finish 1st overall in the mixed Veterans age group race for women (o/35+) and men (o/65+) , Joasia won by 21 secs recording a personal best time of 37.13.60 to win Gold.
