Dan Jenkin led the City Harriers Senior Men’s Team to finish 3rd in the North East Counties Championships at the Sunderland 5k at Silksworth, with Dan 12th in the individual rankings. This Race was also the Club’s Championships Race, and therefore once again became the Harriers’ 5k Champion.
There were in fact 2 Races, the first one being for Women and the Veteran Men (over 50) in which the in-form Steve Everett (over 55) had another excellent run and was the outright winner, thereby claiming the Veterans’ Club Championship. Kim Simpson also ran well in this Race, finishing 17th overall and becoming the Club’s Senior Women Champion. Full results of both Races were as follows:

[divider]In the North East Open Grand Prix T&F (Meeting 4) at Jarrow, there was some fine performances by Club Members as follows:
Oliver Taylor ( u/17) High Jump 1st 1.70m, 100m (Graded) 12.7pb. Chris Milburn (u/17) Senior Javelin 2nd 35.82m pb. Scott Armstrong (u/20) 800m (Graded) 4th 1.56.3pb, Moses Hung (u/17) 2.15.2. Ryan
Watson (u/17) 5th 9.30.9pb.
Veterans Jason Catterall (v/40) and Paul Donaghy (v/45) were selected for the North East Masters Team in the British Masters Athletic Federation Inter-Area Challenge at Solihull, Jason was 4th in the 800m 2.16 and ran in the (4x100m) Relay Team. Paul was 6th in both the 100m (12.9), and 200m (27.1).
[divider]In the North East Masters 4th T&F Meeting at Jarrow, results in age categories were as follows : Alastair McCall (v/50) 800m (4th) (2.34), Mile 3rd (5.43.9), Brian Brown (o/70) 300m (1st) (63.7), Mile (2nd) (7.39.3), Shot (1st) 5.54m), Francis Turner (v/45) 800m (7th) (2.47).
[divider]At the recent Tynedale 10k in Ovingham, Rob Eaton had an outstanding run finishing 6th in a personal best time of 32.39 (414 finishers).
