In the North East Harrier League XC at Druridge Bay, Northumberland, two Cooks (not related) led the way in their respective races, firstly Peter Cook a talented young runner got our u/15 Boys Team off to a great start by winning the handicap race in fine style and helping his Team to finish 2nd,  an excellent result. Later in the afternoon Alex Cook was 1st counter for the Club finishing 4th in the Senior Men’s Handicap Race (over 500 runners) and helping his Team to finish 3rd. Full results of all Durham City Harrier runners showing their actual times were as follows:

u/15 Boys: 1st Peter Cook 11.50 (5th fastest time of the day) , 17th Joseph Rowntree
13.32, 26th Thomas Wraith 12.13, the 3 scorers, were 2nd Team with 44 points, followed
by 27th Callum Wilkinson  13.54, 28th Joshua Wraith 12.16.

u/13 Girls : 2nd Freya Gibson 14.22, 6th Jessica Pearl 14.43, 46th Holly Cook 14.41,
the 3 scorers, were 3rd Team with 54 points, followed by 60th Emily Rogers 16.49.

u/17 & u/20 Women: 19th Bridget Bradshaw (u/17) 22.43, 21st Laura Cookson (u/17) 22.52, 36th Laura Hopper (u/17) 27.04, the 3 scorers, were 4th Team with 76 points with 38th Alexandra Ingram (u/20) 34.12.

Senior Women: 21st Kelly Bentley (o/50) 30.38, 24th Gemma Soulsby 29.04, 48th
Rachel Terry (o/40) 32.21, 104th Rachel Bentley 31.17,  the 4 scorers, were 7th Team, followed by 161st Ruth McKenzie 33.04, 189th Lynne Carruthers (o/55) 35.42, 213th mAnne Wilson (o/35) 36.40, 260th Fiona Holloway (o/40) 38.35, 265th Femke Nauschutz (o/45) 38.52, 279th Jill Humble (o/35) 39.24 (over 350 finishers).

u/13 Boys: 6th Sam Terry 13.24, 25th Ben Coffer 14.34 (incomplete Team).

u/11 Boys : (Fun Run) 5th Jonny Johansen 5.57, 12th Sam Mason 6.14.

u//11 Girls :(Fun Run) 20th Evie Peart 6.37, 31st Hattie Logan 6.54, 51st Esme Wraith 7.27

Meanwhile, at the British Cross Challenge in Cardiff, Cameron Allan had an outstanding run against some top opposition in the u/20 Men’s Race over the 6.4klm course finishing 17th in a very good time of 20.42.
