Wrekenton xc Report.

If you enjoy running in snow, slush, ice, mud, ice covered puddles or a mixture of all these then this was the course for you.
Wrekenton is always a testing XC course at the best of times, but the Valentine's Day run had the lot and proved a worthy challenge.
Our tent was put to good use as 13 DCH Men and 3 DCH women prepared for the fray.
SENIOR MEN
We were led home by Sam Billmore, his first XC for us, and an excellent 9th place. Andy Biggs and Bob Lindsay also had a good battle and finished 28th and 29th, so it is the medium pack for all three next time. Kevin Knight made his debut for the club in the harrier league, finishing a very creditable 43rd place and will surely be pushing for the medium pack next time. Ted Tate and Rob Hand made up our counters.
Ian Crampton, Dave Masterman,Steve Marshall, Alan Rowell, Geoff Watson, Les Phillips and Brian Brown made up our team.
We finished FOURTH team on the day. WELL DONE TO ALL.

League table after 3 events:-
Heaton 6
Wallsend 7
Sunderland 12
Morpeth 13
Alnwick 15
South Shields 16
DURHAM 18
Elswick 24
Crook 27
Tynedale 27

There are some videos on YouTube, including the start: [www.youtube.com]

They capture the one and only moment in history when I have (or ever will) lead a race.... blink and you miss it.

Search on the videos that George Routledge has posted and you'll find the ladies start as well as a mid section with many orange vests visible

Didn't realise we were so far down the table. I'm trying to recruit some more runners.
