Attached are full results listings.

Thanks to all DCH members who came along this morning, either to help out or to compete. Although I started the morning by scraping snow off the car, by 9am the sun was shining and people were smiling. I was also introduced to Sophie, one of our youngest Club members (by family connection) at one month! By 12.15 there had been some good competitive cross country racing out on the sports fields and by 12.50 (just) there was a complete results listing and a prize presentation. Fastest women's leg of the day was posted by Alyson Dixon of Chester le Street at 10m17s and the fastest men's leg was a dead heat between M Hood and Patrick Martin of Sunderland Harriers who both recorded legs of 8m49s. Fastest among the vets were Brian Rushworth (Sunderland Harriers, VM45) at 9.19 and Gwenda Cavill (Morpeth Harriers, VW45) at 12.10. Is there something biological going on whereby veteran athletes peak at 45 years of age? The senior races were won by Sunderland Harriers in the men's race and Chester le Street in the women's. Morpeth Harriers were first vet women's team and North Shields Poly first vet men's team.

Congrats to Alan, Mac and Elwyn who were 3rd team home in the VM55-64 category and to Alan for posting fastest leg in a complete veteran team in the VM60 category. And thank you to everyone who helped to make the event run smoothly.

Hi

Just wanted to thank everyone for a great race on Sunday. As always the race was well supported by the local running clubs, this im sure is down to the excellent effort of Durham city harriers. The venue and setting really help, but the short tight well marked two lap course make it a really good race to watch and has a fantastic atmosphere about it. After the weather on Saturday night i was relieved to see that you'd arranged another perfect day for the race, i don't know how you managed that but well done. Durham cathedral relays has always been one of my favourate races of the year and im sure it will continue to be so.

Iain

P.S. Thanks for all the support round the course, it really helped.

It was an eye opener being on the other side of the fence, helping out. As a runner competing you do not see what effort goes on behind the scenes. It was an education spending sunday morning with andy going through the results, It was nice to see mr heslop, mr rowell and mr baldwyn in a team together its been a while! and i hope everybody enjoyed the day )cool smiley

Can I add my thanks to everyone, but especially Andy, for their sterling efforts in setting out the course, marshalling and generally making everything run smoothly.
I, along with many others, thought the start/finish in its new position was certainly a great success and of course the weather and setting just made everything perfect.
Well done to all!
