James Askew continued  his fine run of form with a victory at the Newton Aycliffe 10k in a good time of 33.21, Laura Lee (u/20) finished 30th overall and was 2nd Lady and dipped under 40mins for the first time to record a personal best time of 39.41. Other club runners to finish were; Fern Freeman 84th in 44.17 (pb), Gemma Soulsby 128th 47.32, with veterans Paul Lumsdon (m/40) 195th 52.06, Stuart Reay (m/50) 197th 52.12, and Christine Woods (f/55) 204th 52.35 (354 finishers).

In the Ropner Park 5k Trail Race at Stockton,  Rob Eaton had a very good run winning in a time of 16.31, with Rosie Smith finishing 4th overall and was 1st Lady recording 17.30, whilst veteran Jacquie Robson (f/35) was 141st in 27.48 (185 finishers).

Rob Eaton also had a good run at the Cleveland Centre 5k (Middlesbrough) finishing 5th recording a personal best time of 16.03, with Fern Freeman 139th overall (9th female) in a pb time of 20.24 (1116 finishers).

Veteran Matt Hornsby (m/35) was the Clubs only runner at the Newburn River Run over a course of 6.5 miles, and pulled off a fine victory recording a time of 36.29 (266 finishers).

Congratulations to Tia Anderson and Greg Venyo who have both qualified and been selected to run for the Durham County Team in the English Schools Track & Field Championships at Gateshead Stadium on the 8th/9th July. Tia will be competing in the Junior Girls 200m , with Greg competing in the Senior Boys 100m. The Club wish them, and the rest of the Durham County Team the best of luck in the Championships which will be a truly momentous occasion for them, an event that brings together the best athletes in each County in England, to compete for the honour of being the best athlete in the Country at their event.
