This years North East XC Championships were once again held in the backdrop of Alnwick Castle 25 years after the previous one in 1994, conditions were not bad at all underfoot but it was run in bitterly cold high winds during the 11 Race programme.

The races got underway with the u/11 Girls event over 1500m and it was great to see Durham City’s Grace Carter (10) running a well judged race to finish 2nd and was more than delighted when she was presented immediately after the race with her excellent Silver Medal.

Unfortunately the Club missed out on any other individual honours but there was still some fine performances notably by Charlotte Dillon 4th in the (u/13 Girls), William Jardine 5th (u/13 Boys) , Daniel Laidler 8th (u/15 Boys), Joshua Wraith 10th (u/17 Men), and Amy Etherington 18th (Senior Women), all spearheading their teammates within their respective age categories.
