Durham City Harriers Juniors continue to show their success both individually and in Team performance in the penultimate North East Harrier League XC Meeting of the season at Thornley Hall Farm. The u/13 Girls and the u/15 Boys stole the show both pulling off excellent Team victories with the u/13 Boys producing a fine 2nd Team performance.
In the u/13 Girls Race the great rivalry between teammates continued with Freya Gibson and Charlotte Dillon, and on this occasion Freya finished 2nd overall in the Race with Charlotte 3rd only 10secs behind and Jessica Peart 8th a further 23secs adrift , and they were the 3 scorers. Similarly in the u/15 Boys Race, twin brothers Joshua and Thomas Wraith are never far away from one another and again Joshua was ahead finishing 4th overall with Thomas in 7th place 17secs behind and Peter Cook 12th, the 3 scorers. Aiden Wilkinson was first counter for the Club in the u/13 Boys in 8th from the slow pack, with Sam Terry 11th just pipping William Henderson 12th from the fast pack who were the 7th and 8th fastest times in this Race. In the Senior Women’s Race, Amy Etherington ran very well to finish 3rd , whilst Dan Jenkin finished 9th overall (4th fastest time) from the fast pack in the Senior Men’s Race, with Sota Minowa 12th from the slow pack, and Matt Hornsby 15th and 2nd (v/35) also from the fast pack. fastest), 8th Jessica Peart 14.34 (7th fastest) 1st Team (13 points), followed by 40th Megan Hauxwell 17.24, and 46th Hattie Logan 18.50.
U/15 Boys; 4th Joshua Wraith 12.03 (4th fastest), 7th Thomas Wraith 12.20 (7th fastest), 12th Peter Cook 12.56 (11th fastest) 1st Team (23 points), followed by 14th Ben Dowsett 13.01, and 26th Callum Wilkinson 15.15.
U/13 Boys ; 8th Aiden Wilkinson 14.42, 11th Sam Terry 13.10, 12th William Henderson
13.12. 2nd Team (31points) , followed by 17th Lewis Littlewood 15.36, 22nd Ethan Stokes 14.10, and 35th Jake Wilks 15.30.
U/15 Girls ; 32nd Holly Cook 17.21 , was our only representative in this Race.
Senior Women; 3rd Amy Etherington 30.09, 108th Dionne Hamil (v/40) 36.02, 112th Catherine Gough 33.29, 116th Clare Higgins 33.32, the 4 scorers were 4th Team, followed by 141st Sarah Cook (v/40) 36.52, 165th Jennifer Arthur 37.49, 201st Lynne Carruthers (v/55) 39.08, and also competing in this race was 229th Brian Brown (v/70) in 40.43 and was 3rd (v/65).
Senior Men ; 9th Dan Jenkin 34.08, 12th Sota Minowa 12th 39.28, 15th Matt Hornsby 35.06, 117th Rob Everson 37.57 , 174th Pranav Anand (u/20) 43.56, and 204th Jacob Stephenson (u/20) 41.58, the 6 scorers were 8th Team , followed by 395th Tony McNeil (v/50) 52.22.
U/11 Girls (Fun Run) ; 9th Evie Peart 6.38, 12th Grace Carter 6.51, 34th Eloisa Wilkes 8.16, 35th Charlotte Evans 8.18, 36th Rebecca Evans 8.22.
U/11 Boys (Fun Run) ; 13th William Cook 6.19, 25th Harrison Stokes 6.59.
