Durham City Harriers have shone again in the Harrier League fixture, this time at Druridge Bay, with the Senior Men having another individual success after a superb run by (u/20) Luke Pickering who won by over 1 minute in a record field of 564 finishers. Following Dan Garbutt’s brilliant victory the week before at Wrekenton, Luke made it 2 from 2 which capped off an excellent day of  results. Another fine run came from Dan Jenkin who recorded a finishing time  of 33:21, putting him the 6th fastest time of the day. An impressive time of 34:02 saw Luke Pickering finish the 10th fastest time overall and the fastest by an (u/20) which was, undeniably, the Club's result of the day. the 4 scorers, were 6th Team, followed by 204th Sarah Cook 35:46, 220th Mandy Jardine 36:10,  298th Rachel Dillon 39:38, with 302nd Brian Brown (v/70) 39:46 (n/s).
The Club had a good turnout for the under 15 Boys, with a fine 2nd Team  placing on the day, results of which were as follows:

In the u/15 girls, Holly Cook was the Club's only runner and was credited with a time of 15:35, finishing 35th.
However in the u/13 Girls Race, great running by Charlotte Dillon and Freya Gibson, backed up by Megan Hauxwel,l saw them pull off a fine Team victory, with Charlotte
Dillon 4th in 13:22 (3rd fastest time), 6th Freya Gibson 13:27 (4th fastest time), and 25th Megan Hauxwell 14:33, the 3 scorers, with 37th Jessica Peart recording 14:56.
In the u/13 Boys Race saw 12th Jake Wilkes 12.33 (6th fastest time) and 13th Samuel Terry 12.36 (7th fastest time) both having fine runs and backed up by 17th Sam Mason 14.28, the 3 scorers, the Boys were a very good 3rd Team, with 51st William Henderson recording 14.19.
There were also some good performances for the u/11 (Fun Run) Girls and Boys, results as follows:
Girls: 14th Alexandra Jardine 6:43, 17th Grace Carter 6:52, 31st Isla Lowery 7:26, 44th Eloisa Wilkes 7:59.
Boys: 5th William Jardine 6:05, 10th William Cook 6:21, 22nd George Sedgwick-Black 6:37, 51st Harry Mason 7:14.
So after two matchdays and some excellent results in both the Senior and Junior races, the Harriers march on towards a fixture at Gosforth Park, and the Club are looking forward to another good turnout throughout the age groups with further positive results in mind.
