It was a year ago when Tia Anderson won Gold in the Girls (u/15) 200m in the Northern T&F Championships at Leigh, but this year she stepped up in distance for the Championships in Liverpool to 300m and also in age group to (u/17) and again won Gold. Tia's time in her heat was 41.26 secs, finishing 2nd to qualify, and then in the Final ran 40.48 secs - an excellent result for a very promising young athlete. Younger brother Travis featured in the Boys (u/15) 300m finishing 7th in the Final recording 41.07, having qualified earlier in a heat time of 41.46.

In the Sunderland 5k Road Races, Durham featured in all 3 races with veteran Matt Hornsby recording the Club's fastest time in the Senior Mens Race, results of which were as follows:

Seniors Men: Matt Hornsby 24th 15.54 (4th v/35), Rob Everson 39th 16.28pb, Jonny Wilkinson 58th 17.05, Andrew Foster 145th 20.35pb.
v/50 Vets: Rob Garbutt 24th 19.58, Shaun Day 33rd 21.14, Stuart Reay 44th 24.23
Senior Women: Sam Newington (v/40) 50th 22.51, Christine Woods (v/60) 66th 24.46 (1st v/60).

In the Northumberland Coastal Half Marathon at Alnwick, veteran Matt Walker (v/35) was 1st scorer  for the Harriers in 52nd place  leading the other Club veteran runners home in a time of 1.38.26, followed by Steven Martin (v/40) 178th 1.49.43, David Coxon (v/45) 306th 1.58.21, Simon Hackett (v/50) 335th 1.59.48, Karen Jones (v/45) 535th 2.13.24, Greta Jones (v/50) 583rd 2.16.51, Christine Woods (v/60)
612th 2.19.32 (3rd v/60) , Lynne Carruthers (v/55) 613th 2.19.33.

Veteran  Matt Hornsby (v/35) had another fine run in the South Shields 10 Miles (Multi -Terrain) Race finish 2nd overall and 1st veteran in a time of 59.11, followed
by veterans Paul Weir (v/40) 14th 66.43 and Liz Lamb (v/60) 184th 91.35.
