Lauren Etchells (u/15) had an excellent run in the Scottish National u/13, u/15, and u/20 Indoor Championships at the Emirates Arena in Glasgow winning her heat of the
300m in 45.48, and also winning her semi final in 44.39, before going on to win a well deserved Silver Medal, recording a personal best time of 43.17.

In the English Schools XC Championships, held at Temple Newsome Park in Leeds, the Harriers had 6 who qualified as of right to represent Durham County in this eagerly awaited event of the winter for young athletes covering 46 Counties in England. As it turned out all 6 were scorers for their respective Teams which was great to see, the results of which were as follows:

Senior Boys (6.8k) Luke Pickering 66th 24.48 (1st counter for Durham Schools), Michael Wade 118th 25.33 (2nd counter), 29th out of 39 Teams (312 finishers).
Inter-Boys (5.2k) Sam Gibson 136th 19.40 (2nd counter) 36th out of 44 Teams (339 finishers).
Junior Boys (4.1k) Joshua Wraith 127th 15.45 (5th Counter), Charlie Phillips 141st 15.49 (6th counter) 7th out of 45 Teams (346 finishers).
Junior Girls (3.1k) Erin Keeler - Clarke 148th 12.51 (6th Counter), 10th out of 44 Teams (342 finishers).

Over in Eastern Europe, Jonny Wilkinson again made his long annual trip abroad for the 6th European Deaf Indoor Athletics Championships at Gomel, Belarus, and although not at his best for this stage of the season he finished 6th in the 1500m, recording 4.23.30 on day one, and was 5th on day two in the 3000m, recording 9.40.86.

At the South Yorkshire Indoor Series (Fixture 4) in Sheffield, Travis Anderson (12) produced yet another outstanding run inĀ  the (13-15) age category finishing 3rd in the 800m and recording a brilliant time of 2.19.11, a personal best time by 4.71 secs.

In the Gateshead Harriers Open Indoor Series Amy Colling was 1st in the (u/15) 60m recording a personal best time of 8.48, followed by Ellie Harris also (u/15) who was 6th
in 8.67, whilst veteran Paul Donaghy (o/50) recorded 8.18. Oliver Taylor finished 3rd overall in the High Jump and 3rd (u/17) recording 1.75m
