In the 112th Annual North East Counties XC Championships at Redcar Racecourse, Durham City Harriers enjoyed an excellent day of competition with pride of place going to the Club’s u20 Men Team who became Champions in their race over 8k. The team was superbly led home by Joseph Grehan-Bradley who had an excellent run finishing 2nd to win Silver which automatically gains him selection for the N.E.(u/20) Team for the Inter-Counties Race at Loughborough in March 2018, and with Michael Wade finishing a very good 4th and Alex Cook finishing very fast to finish 6th, and with 3 to count, the Team won the traditional Trophy and become Champions holding off main rivals Morpeth.

Durham also fielded a strong Senior Men’s Team but they could not beat an equally strong Morpeth team, but with excellent packing and 6 to count they won Team Silver with a  very good all round Team performance. Erin Keeler-Clarke (u/13) also produced a fine run but was unlucky to miss out on a Bronze finishing 4th.
