Three of the Club’s Junior (u/15) runners were part of the Durham Johnston Comprehensive School Team who made the long journey down to Sevenoaks in Kent having already qualified locally to compete now in this English Schools XC Cup Final.
They were part of the Intermediate Boys Team of 6 runners with 4 to score over a course of 4.2 kms. First counter for the School was Sam Gibson who ran very well finishing 11th in 14.47, closely followed by the in-form Peter Cook who was 19th in 15.01, with Charlie Phillips also finishing well in 36th returning 15.28, all 3 runners from the Harriers who all perform well in XC. Backing them up was Ben Dowsett (not one of our Club Members), but was a vital 4th member of the School Team, finishing 119th in 16.46, thus ensuring them 7th place out 27 Teams with 185 points a great result. The 2 other members of the Team were Oliver Stewart 124th in 16.57 and Joe Bennett 155th in 18.22 (non scoring).
