Durham City Harriers have recorded their most successful North East Counties Track & Field Championships since the Club was re-formed in 1972. Over 2 days of competition at Gateshead International Stadium, and across the various age groups, the Club’s athletes won a total of 24 Medals – 8 Gold, 7 Silver, 9 Bronze – including some Championship Best Performances and many personal bests.

On the 1st day of competition Gold Medals were won by Tia Anderson in the (under 15 Girls) 200m, Timothy Tetlow in the (Senior Men) 400m Final, and Multi-Eventer Chris Milburn in the (under 17 Men) Pole Vault.

On the 2nd day of competition athletes doubled their medals tally with Tia Anderson
winning another Gold Medal in the 300m with Championship Best Performances both in her Heat and bettered in the Final, including a personal best time of 41.00 secs which has taken her to the top of the current UK (u/15) Girls Rankings, an excellent
achievement. Team-mate Jennifer Taylor won Silver, and Lauren Etchells won Bronze – a fine podium finish. Chris Milburn also won another Gold in the (u/17 Men) Hammer. Erin Keeler-Clarke went one better in her (u/13 Girls) 1500m, winning Gold with a Championship Best Performance and improving on her personal best time. Scott
Armstrong also won Gold in the u/20 Men 800m with James Thornton winning Gold in the u/15 Boys Long Jump.
