In the Northern u/13 & u/15 Indoor Championships at Sheffield, the in-form Tia
Anderson just missed out on winning the 200m in the Girls u/15 Championship with a near perfect run up through the qualifying rounds. In her heat she ran 26.65, the semi-final in 25.91 pb, and a 25.81 pb in the final to finish with a well earned Silver Medal. Meanwhile, younger brother Travis (11) ran a great race in the Final of the u/13 Boys 800m, winning a Bronze Medal in a superb pb time of 2.28.93. In the final of the u/15 Boys 800m Adam Ord also ran very well securing a Bronze Medal in an impressive time of 2.08.01 which was a shade outside his pb time. Tyler Thomas also ran well through the rounds of the Boys u/15 200m with a 24.50 (heat) pb, 24.51 (s/f), and 24.49 pb in the Final to finish 5th. Lauren Etchells in the Girls u/15 200m ran 28.18 in her heat and reached the semi-final recording 28.10.
One week later, three of the group travelled north to Glasgow and competed in the Scottish National u/13, u/15 and u/20 Indoor Championships at the Emirates Arena. Tia Anderson went one better this time winning an excellent Gold Medal in the u/15 Girls 200m after another great build up of times 27.67 (heat), 25.88 (s/f), and 25.87 in the Final. Travis Anderson was 8th in the u/13 Boys 800m recording 2.29.30, just outside his new pb time of the previous week, whilst Lauren Etchells recorded 44.29 in her heat of the u/13 Girls 300m and reached the semi-final recording a time of 44.31.
In the NE Counties Indoor Championships at Gateshead, Tyler Thomas recorded 7.76 in his heat of the u/15 Boys 60m, and finished 4th in the Final recording 7.72. Greg Venyo recorded 7.34 in his heat of the u/20 Men’s 60m, and was 5th in the Final recording 7.33, whilst Oliver Taylor recorded 8.05 in his heat of the u/17 Men’s 60m.
